Set in the Arrábida natural park, this windmill shares the grounds and pool with the owners house and another windmill; it enjoys wonderful views overlooking mountains, the ocean and river Sado. Although in the heart of the natural park, Setúbal is only 5 minutes drive away and has a good selection of shops and local restaurants. The tastefully renovated property has been lovingly restored keeping all of the original charm, within an outstandingly beautiful setting. The windmill is very near to one of Portugal’s great wine regions, which produces excellent table wines and the splendid fortified wine Moscatel of Setúbal. The Arrábida natural park has several unique protected species, and it is possible to see dolphins in the Sado estuary.

There are several wonderful beaches within easy reach such as Portinho da Arrábida which has a sheltered bay and a friendly café/restaurant serving simple dishes. The Tróia peninsula also has 18km of great beaches and several fresh fish restaurants to sample. These beaches can only be reached by the ferry from Setúbal. For shopping visit Arraiolos, where you can find great local tapestries and pottery.

The windmill has been carefully restored. On the ground floor is the open plan living/dining room; this has comfortable seating and a fireplace, a sofa bed and a dining table to seat 4 and a kitchen equipped with fitted cupboards, a cooker and fridge. Stairs lead to the first floor double bedroom and shower room/WC. There is also a small mezzanine floor with reading area.

Outside the property is a terrace with table and chairs, and below this the shared 14m x 6m swimming pool.
