Discobolus of Myron to go on show in Alicante - 30 Jan 2009
Those taking a villa holidays in Spain this year will have the opportunity to see the famous Discobolus of Myron, which goes on display in Alicante later this year.
The Roman statue is one of 125 works that will be loaned to the Archaeological Museum of Alicante.
Currently on display at the British museum, the marble statue, which depicts a disc thrower, is currently on show at the British Museum, Typically Spanish reports.
The piece will go on display in Alicante from April 3rd to October 5th, giving holidaymakers plenty of time to view it.
As well as the Archaeological Museum, Alicante is home to several other attractions including the Capa Collection and the Gravina Museum of Fine Arts.
The Gravina is home to a permanent collection of over 500 works, including works by legendary artists including Vicente Lopez, Antonio Gisbert and Joaquin Agrasot.
