Tenerife beaches receive revamp - 02 Dec 2008
villa holiday in Tenerife look set to get even better, with island officials planning to spend millions of euros on improving the island's beaches.
The coastal area between Los Cristianos and La Caleta is one region which is set to benefit from improvements.
According to Tenerife News, improvements are expected to be carried out over the next three months and sand recovery work will also be undertaken.
Commenting on the plans, tourism councillor Jose Manuel Bermudez said the regeneration of the island's beaches was a priority to local authorities.
A number of other improvements will also be carried out over the coming year, with plans to extend the Avenida Rafael Puig.
One of the most popular Canary Islands, Tenerife enjoys wam temperatures all year round and is home to popular attractions such as the Lago Martianez and Mount Teide.
