Holidaymakers looking for that unspoilt quality when booking villa holidays in Mallorca might like to consult the results of a new list compiled by industry experts.
High Life magazine, which is distributed by British Airways, brought together a panel of travel sector figures to come up with a list of the 50 most authentic places to visit in the world.
Of all the entries, only two were in Spain - and one of them can be found on the glorious Balearic island of Mallorca.
Valldemosa was selected by judges in a selection of names that included Rio de Janeiro, Venice and Paris.
The old village is located up in the mountains of north-west Mallorca. It is perhaps most famous for being home to Frederic Chopin during 1838-39.
While living there, Chopin's lover George Sand famously wrote a book about her time and was critical of aspects of life there - but that account has not stopped the village becoming a jewell in Mallorca's crown.
