Limousin Villas: Regional Information

Little, land-locked Limousin is among France’s smallest regions, yet its contributions to the world at large are not insignificant the limousine and the region's high quality porcelain are among its claim to fame.
What is less well known is that Limousin’s remote and under-populated countryside hides some of France’s finest hiking, cycling and riding. Its woodlands also provide the elements of fine cuisine: truffles, cépes and girolles, hazelnuts and chestnuts.
North-west of Limoges lies an area known as "Monts de Blond", the highest ground between Limousin and Brittany. In this area stand the "Rochers de Puychaud" - mounds of eroded granite - just one of the neolithic dolmens and menhirs which can be found throughout the countryside.
Limogues not only boasts its beautiful century-old craftwork of enamelling and porcelain, but a centre of cobbled streets, medieval churches, a cathedral, the bishop's palace and botanical gardens which overlook the Rivere Vienne.
